In a suburb of Salzburg, INNOCAD Architecture<\/a> reinterprets the gabled-roof house with Casa S\u2014a modern family residence wrapped in pre-weathered timber. Built from native spruce using cross-laminated timber, the structure rests lightly above a steel-supported base, giving the home a sculptural and elevated appearance. The facade is layered with folding perforated shutters, offering privacy and light control while enhancing the building\u2019s visual depth.<\/p>\n The dark timber shell acts as both shield and screen, softening the transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. Sunlight filters through the shutters, creating dynamic patterns on the terrace and glazing below.<\/p>\n An open-plan ground floor blends seamlessly with the garden through full-height glazing. Natural materials\u2014timber, stone, muted tones\u2014tie the interior to the landscape, while sculptural kitchen blocks and fireplaces create contrast.
